Harjinder Thind Biography

Education - Born and raised in district Ludhiana, Panjab, India. Harjinder Singh Thind is a Law graduate from Panjab University, Chandigarh. As a young lad he was the darling of his peers. Around this time he was quite impressed by the principle of equality, which led him to study Marxism. His passion for the Panjabi language blossomed while studying law. He was involved in many debates and won awards for public speaking, including the award for the best speaker. He moved on to the London School of economics in England for further research in law.

Volunteer work & Awards - Harjinder settled in Castlegar, BC upon immigrating to Canada in 1979. After 20 years in Castlegar, he and his family relocated to Surrey, BC. Harjinder fosters a strong sense of community through his volunteer work with a number of local and international organizations. His work has been recognized by many in his community. He is a recipient of the prestigious Queens Jubilee Medal. This medal was presented to him for enhancing the broadcasting standards of the Panjabi Language. Harjinder is no stranger to the world of media.
